Tentative working title of the project: Ty Randall's "God Moments" Project.

Tentative working title of the book: God Moments

Idea: To interview and photograph a wide variety of willing participants and produce a book that will be offered for sale with proceeds going to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of America.

"God Moments" is a phrase that could mean many different things to different people, or possibly nothing at all to some. You do not have to be "religious" to participate in this project. Ty will simply ask people to share what they think of the phrase and how they interpret it along with describing one of their God Moments, if they have had one that they would be willing to share.

At this time Ty can not promise or reveal who will be in the book, but he can tell you he will ask a wide variety of people from the every-day common person next door to Presidential candidates. Ty hopes to include people from various occupations, religious backgrounds, national origins, races, geographical locations, and social and economic statuses.

The photograph: Ty would prefer the photograph to be a casual, relaxed environmental portrait shot on location, preferably but not necessarily either at the person's residence or maybe job, or even nearby park.

Time commitment: 5 minutes or more, depending on your answer. We realize people are busy. Ty will take up as little of your time as possible. He just wants to ask a couple simple questions. If you would like to participate, we can even send those simple questions to you ahead of time so you can prepare a short, succinct answer.

Disclaimer: Despite the appreciation for your cooperation, being interviewed and photographed is no guarantee of inclusion in the project. You will be required to sign a release to participate. There is no financial compensation for participation.

About Ty Randall: Ty is a freelance photojournalist from New Jersey. His previous self-published books include "Naked Dendroids" and "A Ty Eye View of New Orleans - Six Months After Katrina." Ty began Ty Randall Creations mainly to help raise money for organizations in need. This project is a continuation of that effort.

If you have any questions or would like to participate, please contact Ty as soon as possible.

  TY ANSWERS GOD MOMENTS FAQ:

Q: When did you start your God Moments Project?
A: The idea first came to me sometime in 2006, but due to other projects, I wasn't able to actually start it until 2007.

Q: How long do you plan to work on it?
A: I actually have two answers for that question. The first is that I will work on it for as long as it takes and I don't have any set time allotment in mind. I envision it as another one of my continuing ongoing projects, like some of the portfolios I work on; I just add to them when I can.
My second answer would be that I would like to finish within about a year or two, but it really depends on several factors such as finances, scheduling, how much time and energy I devote to this project instead of my other projects, and especially with this project, it's not really up to me if you know what I mean.

Q: Why are you calling it "God Moments?"
A: The original idea came after something that happened to me. When this particular thing happened, I felt very alive, energetic, and exhilarated. When it was over, I said to myself, "Wow! I think I just had a God Moment." I don't want to give people their answers, so that's all I'd like to say about it for now. You'll be able to read more details about that moment for me in the book when I'm finished. I just feel that I have to call the project something. I like "God Moments" because it's a phrase that could mean different things to different people, which I hope will give me different answers.

Q: Is this book only for religious people?
A: No. It's for everyone.

Q: What kind of book will it be?
A: Since it doesn't exist yet, I can't really answer that.

Q: What if somebody says they do not believe in God?
A: Then they probably would also say they have never had a "God Moment," but that doesn't mean I will not include them in my book. I'm not sure if I would or not at this point, I'd have to see how it came out. I also have the disclaimer that just because I interview you and photograph you for it, does not guarantee you will be in it. I would imagine the final editing will not be up to me.

Q: Who will edit and publish the book?
A: I would like to get it published by a major publisher and if that happens, I would imagine someone on their team will edit it. If I can't get a major publisher to publish it, I'll try a minor publisher. If I can't get a minor publisher interested, I may publish it myself. We'll have to wait and see.

Q: Who have you interviewed so far?
A: I can't say right now. I can tell you I need lots more, so I'd love for people to volunteer for it.

Q: How long does the interview take?
A: That depends on several factors such as the person's answer, their schedule, the setting, our repoire, etc. It could be anywhere from 2 minutes to all day.

Q: How long does the photo session take?
A: That also depends on a few things like setting, willingness to pose, schedule, etc. Again, it could be anywhere from 2 minutes to all day. I would imagine, the longer I have to spend with someone and the more I get to know them, I will take more shots and have a better chance of getting a good one. But I'll take what I can get, even if that means one quick shot while they're passing by.

Q: Why would someone want to participate in this project?
A: Because when I'm on Oprah and she turns the book into a bestseller, you'll be sorry if you didn't. I don't want you to feel guilty about not be included, so if I ask you should say yes. Besides, it would probably be good publicity (if that's the sort of thing you look for), not to mention inspirational and helpful for the Boys and Girls Club of America, or all boys and girls for that matter.

Q: Is there any payment for participation?
A: The payment is not financial, it's more in Karma. You may feel good about doing it, you may help someone by doing it, or you may do some good without even realizing it.

Q: Where does the interview and photo session take place?
A: My preference is usually not at someone's job, unless they are a rock star, actor, or athlete, or something like that. If I interview a CEO who wears suits to the corporate office everyday, I'd rather photograph them on their day off in their bathing suit, or on the golf course or something. I prefer casual and relaxing with no fake smiles. But as I say, I'll (sometimes) take what I can get.

Q: Will any personal information be published?
A: The only personal information to be published is that relating to the person's answer about "God Moments" or possibly a piece of their home that may end up in the photograph. Any other personal information such as address, phone numbers, contacts, or other information revealed in the interview and not relevant will be kept confidential by the author. Ty Randall and Ty Randall Creations respects the privacy of their clients. Ty used to have a government job with a high-level top secret clearance, so he knows how to keep a secret.

Q: Can you give me more information about Ty Randall?
A: Sure, anything you want to know. A more detailed bio, resume, and references will be provided on request.
